<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Aim. Explore the relationship between the tourism industry and the country’s economic health due to the spread of COVID-19. Methodology. The analysis of statistical material (the number of tourist arrivals, unemployed, GDP of countries, etc.) is carried out. Changes in the behavior of tourists in connection with the development of the infection were assessed; tourist image of destinations; in the tourism business associated with the need to introduce new technologies. The theoretical basis of crises, disasters, disasters and systems was studied in order to determine the typology of the coronavirus pandemic. Results. The analysis showed that COVID-19 negatively affected the development of the tourism industry, which led to a sharp decrease in the number of trips abroad, dining in restaurants, group travel and the purchase of travel insurance. COVID-19 has gone from being infected with a biological virus to being infected by the financial crisis and more recently into an economic race to restore financial competitiveness. Research implications. The practical relevance lies in the need to assess the role of innovation in the revitalization and rethinking of tourism, while strengthening existing paradigms in e-tourism. The new operating environment fueled by the COVID-19 measures requires firms to implement new technologies and applications to manage crowds and the number of people gathered in public places as the tourism demand crisis hits.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>туризм</kwd><kwd>коронавирус</kwd><kwd>устойчивость</kwd><kwd>кризис</kwd><kwd>пандемия</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>COVID-19</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Сарафанова А.
