Цель. Цель данной работы заключается в анализе понятий регион, региональное управление и эволюции их содержания в отечественной и зарубежной теории и практике.

Процедура и методы

Процедура и методы. В статье рассмотрены взгляды на сущность и содержание понятий регион и региональное управление и особенности их реализации с учётом исторического опыта и современной практики. При проведении исследования применены методы анализа, синтеза, исторический метод и метод сравнительного анализа.

Результаты

Результаты. В ходе работы было выяснено, что, хотя понятие регион вошло в научный оборот сравнительно недавно, как явление оно существует на протяжении нескольких веков. Региональное управление, особенно его международный аспект, требует особого внимания в современной России.

Теоретическая и/или практическая значимость. Результаты исследования вносят вклад в теорию и практику регионального управления в Российской Федерации.

Aim

Aim. The purpose of this work is to analyze the concepts of region, regional management and the evolution of their content in domestic and foreign theory and practice.

Methodology

Methodology. The article considers the views on the essence and content of the concepts of region and regional management, and the specifics of their implementation, taking into account historical experience and modern practice. The methods of analysis, synthesis, historical method and method of comparative analysis were used in the research.

Results

Results. In the course of the work, it was found out that, although the concept of region entered scientific circulation relatively recently, as a phenomenon it has existed for several centuries. Regional governance, especially its international aspect, requires special attention in modern Russia.

Research implications

Research implications. The results of the study contribute to the theory and practice of regional governance in the Russian Federation.
