THE FEATURES OF LAND-ECONOMIC RELATIONS IN AGRICULTURE

Abstract

A significant complication of land-economic relations in agricultural sector of the Russian economy caused by the necessity of intensive agricultural development under the conditions of limited financial resources and technical facilities demands special investigation of the features of these relations. The Russian Federation Ministry of Agriculture has drafted amendments to the Land Code of the Russian Federation that provide for five to three year reduction in the period of unused agricultural land withdrawal. How timely and scientifically justified is this bill? It is obvious that the issue of land affects the economic interests of many businesses. Therefore the validity of certain decisions must be based on a political economy analysis. From the standpoint of economic science the concepts of land and agrarian relations are not identical. The article provides new arguments (in addition to the existing ones) for differentiating these concepts in spite of their interconnectedness to improve the study of opportunities ensuring economic security of reproduction processes in agriculture.
