THE SPECIFICITY OF MALAYSIAN AND SOUTH KOREAN BUSINESS TRANSNATIONALIZATION IN AFRICA

https://doi.org/10.18384/2310-6646-2015-3-30-36

Abstract

TNCs from Malaysia have intensified investments into African agriculture by organizing large plantations and engaging in barter relations with local authorities. Large oil companies from Malaysia and South Korea, such as “PETRONAS”, participate in acquisitions of local enterprises and try to organize retail business in the relevant branch of economy. It seems a positive tendency when high-tech TNCs in electronics industry, for instance “Samsung”, localize manufacturing and can offer to African consumers high quality affordable products.
