PROBLEMS OF FOOD SAFETY IN RUSSIA

Abstract

The article considers the problems of food security in Russia which determine population's physi-cal and mental health. One of the most important and foreground conditions of socio-economic development of the country is associated with production, distribu-tion and consumption of food. Food national safety pri-marily depends on the general state of economy and particularly on its agribusiness. Highly developed and effective agriculture is an indispensable characteristic of the foremost economy. According to the calculations of international organizations a country must provide itself with no less than 70 - 75% of domestic food products.
